When using VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 3.8 and attempting to deploy vRealize Automation (vRA), the deployment fails with error message "Unable to authenticate to Active Directory. Authentication with Active Directory fqdn failed for user domain\user. Please check network connectivity and credentials correctness
Cause
The issue is caused by a complex password using special symbols. There is extra software between the template to validate credentials. This does not affect standard vRA, only when deploying vRA through VCF.
Resolution
Reduce the complexity of the Password for the service account by not using certain symbols. Only use these symbols: @ ! $
